Home(wood) sweet home
FROM JB:
Instantly the hotel suite feels like a loft apartment. The ceiling is incredibly high, the brick walls lend a charm and relaxed vibe.
If dining out every day during your extended stay is too costly, there is a kitchen in the suite to prepare your meals. The full-sized fridge is also handy for storing all your groceries.
If you feel like taking a dip, there is a big pool in the hotel that is great for splashing around or doing some laps. And I have to say, even though the hotel was full the pool was always empty -- of people, I mean. It was great to float around in the peace and quiet.
Great for extended stays in the area, Homewood Suites in downtown Indianapolis impressed me the second I walked in the door. How? Anne Murray and Bryan Adams songs played in the lobby as I checked in. Gotta love the shout out to Canada! Plus, the evening social is a great way to mingle with fellow guests with some wine, beer and snacks. Seriously, it was like arriving at an all-inclusive resort where you can grab a drink in the lobby right when you get there.
When I got to the suite, I was greeted by even more local flavours and tastes from Indiana Pickle Co. and Broad Ripple Chip Co. Delicious!
And I always love a handwritten note when I check into a hotel. I don't know why, it is a nice touch to a personal welcome.
